CANIDAE Geiser Motorsport Team Finishes Strong at Rounds 7 and 8 in Utah

For Rounds 7 and 8 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Series at Miller Motorsports Park, the CANIDAE Geiser Motorsport Team's U-2, Single Buggy, and Kart teams turned in some hard fought finishes. Crowd attendance was at a record high for these Saturday and Sunday Rounds in Utah. LOORS pre-sold more tickets than at any other event so far. Fans are what it is all about!

U-2 with Driver Jeff GeiserU-2 with Driver Jeff Geiser
After a broken spindle in Round 7 on Saturday, Jeff returned for Sunday's Round 8 qualifying in 9th position. With the first 8 positions inverted, he started behind the quick qualifier and stayed in front until his heat exchanger gave up -- it split and let all of the water out. Jeff made several trips to the hot pits for as much water as they had… he finished in 13th place. They are looking to add some additional test time before the next round.

Single Buggy Driver Lindsay GeiserSingle Buggy Driver Lindsay Geiser
The only improvement they made going into Round 7 was a new roof! Lindsay drove her own race and landed her best-ever finish of 6th place out of 18 buggies in the Saturday race! Awesome job Lindsay! On Sunday after a caution, the brakes on Lindsay's buggy locked up. After spending two laps in the hot pits -- Matt and Dave Mitchell were able to determine the problem and broke her free. She charged on to finish those two laps behind but still in 16th place.

Kart Driver Corey GeiserKart Driver Corey Geiser
We changed the clutch and added a few tricks to it. Seems to be what we needed to do because Corey continues to improve and work his way to the front of the pack. His best finish yet came on Saturday in Round 7 -- he finished 4th out of 16 karts. Way to go Corey! As he rounded the second to last corner of the final lap of the final race for the weekend…he was in 3rd place! Coming out of the corner he was in 7th. It seems he was caught up in the excitement of the last leg of the race. The cameras were not at a vantage point and the ruling was sorry it shouldn't have happened but that is racing.

Team Geiser would like to extend a special thank you to their favorite family, the Mitchell's -- Dave, Matt and Judy -- who were all there lending their support. They work around the clock doing whatever was needed and whatever it took to get the job done right. The Geiser's are so very grateful for them, for all that they do and for the relationship that we have developed over the years with them.

CANIDAE Geiser Motorsport Team Turns in Solid Performance with New Chevy U-2 at LOORS Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Jeff GeiserThe CANIDAE Geiser Motorsport team with driver Jeff Geiser managed a 8th place finish in a crowded field at the Lucas Oil Off Road Series at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Rounds 5 and 6 on May 22 and 23. Despite a lost oil pump during Saturday qualifying, Jeff finished 10th and went on to finish 8th on Sunday. This was an excellent result for the team who just completed major work on Jeff's U-2, converting the truck from a Dodge to a Chevy complete with LS7 motor, Stoney Turbo 400 transmission and new Fiberwerx body. The cooling system was redesigned by moving the radiator and tranny coolers to the rear for better air flow. Picking motor support from GM Performance has moved this team in a forward position and they are very optimistic about the remainder of the season.

Lindsay continues to improve at every race with additional seat time. She remains the youngest driver competing in her class, now with a total of 3 female contenders. Lindsay finish 18th on Saturday and improved to 14th on Sunday.

Corey is having a great overall experience. His driving skills are fine tuned -- mechanically speaking. Looking for a few more adjustments to make the kart quicker. Corey took 9th on Saturday and moved up on Sunday for a 7th place finish.

Corey Geiser Turns in Best Team Finish at Las Vegas for CANIDAE Geiser Motorsports Team

Corey GeiserThe CANIDAE Geiser Motorsport team was out in full force March 6th and 7th to take on tough competition for the Lucas Oil Off Road Series at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Junior team member Corey Geiser, age 9, behind the wheel of his #245 Jr. 1 Trophy Kart fought hard for his 11th place finish in his class on Day 1. Though a sheared sprocket prevented him from finishing on Day 2, he made us all proud. Great job Corey!

Lindsay GeiserLindsay Geiser in the Limited Buggy class drove the wheels off her #395 buggy, no second gear, but she learned the art of "clutching" in the corners -- and there were a lot to practice in. This was her first LOORRS event. She is the youngest driver in her class and shows a lot of promise.

In the Unlimited 2 Truck class, the #44 CANIDAE U-2 experienced serious mechanical failures resulting in lots of smoke and then a fire. The hard-working Geiser crew pulled the motor and tranny out, stayed up all night to fix it -- only to be taken out by a popped circuit. The fans never turned on and then there was fire. Full course red on day 2 to get the blazing vehicle off of the track. There were no physical injuries, but deflated ego perhaps.

As Jeff Geiser said after the races, "That my friend, is racing. At least we gave the audience something to stand on their feet for!"

CANIDAE Pet Foods/Geiser Unlimited 2 Truck to open season in Las Vegas instead of Lake Elsinore due to series venue change

CANIDAE sponsored Unlimited 2 TruckJeff Geiser and his CANIDAE sponsored Unlimited 2 Truck team will head to Las Vegas for the season opener of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series which has relocated the first event of 2010, on March 6th and 7th, to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Lucas Oil Executive Vice-President, Bob Patison spoke on the move to the new facility in Las Vegas. “Due to recent unrealistic demands made by the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park management, the environment of the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park no longer remains conducive to providing the atmosphere for a first class event. We have taken great pride in developing spectacular venues for our fans and racers alike to showcase the excitement of our short course off road racing series. While failing to meet their commitments, the management of the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park has complicated our relationship to the point that we now feel the best course of action is to transition away from this venue as we pursue an alternative site in the Southern California region. We are grateful to the staff of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for assisting us in making this as smooth a transition as possible while we look forward to our first event at this fantastic new location.â€

Kicking off the 2010 season, rounds 1 & 2 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series will be held on a brand new, mile long, purpose built track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway featuring the highest banked turn on the Lucas Oil Off Road circuit. With its ten turns and giant table top, this technical track brings the high flying door to door exhilaration of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series to Las Vegas for the first time ever.
